Vampire books show no sign of losing popularity, and Imagine was proud to create the cover design for “Vampire Legends: the Collectors,” using the author as the model because of her striking similarity to the book’s protagonist. Utilizing the talents of our professional in-house photographer, we staged the photo session in our own graphics department. The front cover imagery was enhanced during the printing process by using spot UV coating on both eyes as a way to make the character’s features more hypnotic.
Meanwhile, the back cover proved to be slightly more challenging when the author decided that her husband’s features lacked the appropriate spooky countenance. Rather than going back to the photography drawing board, our graphics team used some magic of its own — the digital variety —to seamlessly place a more suitable head on the original image. The result is a creepy set piece sure to give goose bumps to even the most hardened reader.
