40th Annual International Collegiate Conference
This past weekend I had the honor of representing the UNLV chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) at the AMA 40th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. It gave me so much joy to see hundreds of my peers from across the world gathered together to practice the marketing concepts we have learned in school. I was able to compete in the SABRE business simulation competition, an eight-hour product management business simulation with a total of 30 teams competing.
My team finished in second place among the five teams in our world, and 10th place overall. I also had the opportunity to compete in the Marketing Strategy competition, where a case is presented to a two-person team and 21 minutes are given to analyze the case before presenting it in front of a panel of judges. In addition to the competition, several talented speakers were available throughout the conference including Mark French, owner and inventor of Court Grip, a dry grip used on the basketball court by various pros. I saw so much talent at this conference, and it is my pleasure to say that among all 400 international chapters, my team came home with the right to call ourselves the top sixth chapter. I am so proud of my team, and all the hard work that brought us here!
