When your agency needs an agency

I know it may be hard to believe, but here at Imagine, there are some aspects of marketing that we don’t do often enough to excel in. When that happens, we partner with other agencies to provide our clients with the services they need to meet their goals.

For example, if a client needs some high-level digital advertising, we may call on one of our partner companies that specializes in digital marketing to help us out. And likewise, they’ll call us when one of their clients needs a public relations campaign.

Does that seem weird? It shouldn’t.

Imagine isn’t an expert in every facet of marketing. And unless you’re one of the big conglomerates, most marketing companies aren’t. You should run if your agency is telling you otherwise. Rather than offer subpar services to a client just to keep all their business with us, we add a partner to our team who offers high-quality work in the areas we don’t serve. This is a win-win-win because the client is getting the results they want, we have a happy client, and our partner has new business. (And don’t worry – even if we are partnering with another agency, we stay involved with the project.)

What are some of the things we look for in a partner agency?

  1. Good reputation
  2. High quality work
  3. Industry expertise
  4. Compatible personality
  5. Superior client service

The moral of the story is this: if you are ever working with a firm that tells you they need to partner with someone else, don’t be discouraged. Be satisfied you chose a company that cares enough about the quality of work you need to hand it over to an expert.

Account Director Nadia Zerka believes it’s better to be really good at a couple things than mediocre at many things, which is why she is always open to meeting with new vendor partners.
